Why We Support Sherry

I’ve known Sherry for several years and have worked with her for the past year on the Performance and Measures Committee for the Antelope Valley War on Gangs and Crime and I can say from personal experience that she has the dedication and desire to better our community. She has committed herself to crime-fighting and making Lancaster a safe and desirable place to live. She is godly, reliable, trustworthy, and a real go-getter and is the right person for the Lancaster City Council.

I have been a resident of the Antelope Valley for 45 yrs. I've known Sherry for about 13 years now. When she told me she was running for city council, I immediately thought to myself it was the perfect position for her. She has wonderful family values as her grown children attest to by their lives. She's a "go getter", tough when she needs to be. I liken her to a chihuahua small and innocent looking enough, but when it comes to crime and gangs, she's a rottweiler taking a bite out of their hide!! We need someone who will be a sounding board for those of us who are fed up with crime, gangs, graffiti, section 8 abuse, and many other blights that affect our city. We need Sherry Marquez for city council!

I have lived in the AV for over 20 years, and I have been working along side Sherry for almost a year now and she has what we need in the AV. She will lead us to the day when the Antelope Valley is a safe, and special place to be again. I wish more people had the passion for Lancaster that she has. Lancaster has been my home and I refuse to give up on it. I am glad to support an honest person like Sherry.

I'm a five-year resident of Lancaster. My vote is for Sherry because she is a woman of integrity and character who has energy and the wherewithal to work hard to  restore Lancaster to the safe city it was in the past. Wouldn't you like to take a walk around the block in your neighborhood after dinner and not be shot by a drive-by, mugged or offered drugs to purchase? Wouldn't you like to live on a block which has no houses with boarded windows or drug dealers stepping out to your vehicle when you drive by? I believe Sherry will give her best as a council member for the City of Lancaster.

Sherry is truly a concerned and capable Resident of Lancaster. I have known Sherry Marquez over 15 years.  Her wisdom and character never cease to amaze me!  Will be voting for her April Eighth.

I have lived in Lancaster for 11 years. During those 11 years, I have seen this valley decline from a safe, nice place to live- to a place to a place where people are afraid to go out at night because of the high crime volume. A place where property values are decreases due to people not caring how their property looks because of the increase in Section- 8 fraud taking place in our valley. These are just a few reasons why I am voting for Sherry Marquez for City Council. She cares, she loves our community, and I know she will work hard to restore the pride that Lancaster once held. Join me in voting for change, for restoring our communities pride. Join me in voting for Sherry Marquez for City council.

In order for us to take back our city from criminals, we must have the support and resources from our Council. We know from working with Sherry on the Antelope Valley War on Gangs and Crime that she has the dedication and commitment to meet these challenges. She will be accountable to the people on this issue and has earned our trust. I support you for city council.  I strongly believe you have vision and will make a commitment to fighting crime in Lancaster.  You are working hard.  You deserve it.  Good Luck!

She has been very active in the expelling of section 8 residents from our community and in keeping our neighborhoods safe by protesting the housing of ex-cons in Lancaster. She was key in the formation of the Antelope Valley War on Gangs and Crime and she holds a position as a committee member of AVWOGC. She sees the problems in our city and has been actively fighting to restore Lancaster to the city she once was. Now Sherry has decided to run for city council and I couldn’t think of a better person for the job.
